nanna designs clothing and handbags that are simple, modern, and original. Selling to boutiques across Canada and into the United States, nanna has earned a strong reputation on the Canadian fashion scene. Since securing a loyal following of bag lovers, our clothing line has continuously grown to include staple season items. Using vintage and recycled accents on every piece, the nanna aesthetic is always original with a sense of fun. With a commitment to producing functional and unique products, we are forever developing new designs while paying close attention to details.
Jody Phillips started the nanna line in 2001 when her personally designed handbags quickly gained popularity at her art school. With business savvy and an eye for detail, she spent the next few years expanding the nanna line to include a wide selection of bags and clothing. In early 2005, upon expecting her first child, Jody brought Lynette Gillis on board to become nanna's Authority Extraordinaire.
Jody and Lynette believe that the brand's success is in large part due to its social and environmental mission. To care for their community, environment, workers and customers Nanna has and will always do the following things:
- Design and produce the line in a sweatshop-free environment in Vancouver, Canada.
- Use recycled fabrics on every nanna piece.
- Enable the average woman to become a socially conscious consumer by maintaining affordable retail prices. (Products range from $15 to $110).
Nanna's international popularity continues to grow with bags on the arms of such stars as Missy Elliot, Hilary Duff, Traci Bingham (Baywatch) and Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie), and in the gift bags at the American Music Awards two years running.
nanna is delighted to have figured out how to produce stylish products with a commitment to high standards and social consciousness.
